About This Access Site
Legion Park offers public access to Choctawhatchee Bay near Miramar Beach in Walton County. Located at the end of Crest Drive (off Ponce De Leon Street, just north of U.S. 98), this county-operated facility features a single-lane concrete ramp approximately 15 feet wide, making it well-suited for shallow-draft vessels including kayaks and canoes. The ramp provides direct water's edge access to the bay, and parking is available on-site.

This is an ideal launch point for exploring the calm waters of Choctawhatchee Bay. The bay's protected, shallow-draft environment makes it popular with paddlers and small boaters. Given the location on the southern shore of the bay near the Destin area, the site offers convenient access to both bay exploration and potential connections to coastal waters. Paddlers should check local conditions and tide schedules before launching, as bay water levels can vary.
