Leonard "Bud" Allen Park offers day-use boat access to Scanewa Lake, a 399-acre reservoir created by the Cowlitz Falls Dam near Randle. This is a straightforward ramp location for kayakers, canoeists, and motorboats looking to access calm lake waters. The site is situated in a scenic area about 15 miles east of Morton via Highway 12 and Savio Road, making it accessible for day trips and fishing excursions.
The lake is well-known among anglers for its rainbow trout population and is one of the few places where recreational fishermen can catch bright salmon in a lake setting. Water conditions are typically calm, making this an ideal spot for paddlers of all skill levels. Note that this is a day-use facility with no overnight camping available at the park itself. The site typically operates mid-May through mid-September. Nearby camping options include reservable Iron Creek Campground and Tower Rock Campground within 10 miles, as well as facilities in Randle and at Taidnapam Campground along nearby Riffe Lake.
