About This Access Site
The Limerick Township access site in Royersford offers a convenient launch point for paddlers and boaters on the Schuylkill River. The facility features a boat ramp (launch permit required), parking for 20+ vehicles, flush toilets, and drinking water. A picnic area is also available for visitors. Note that this ramp serves as one of two public launch points at the opposite ends of the navigable river section, making it an important access point for planning multi-section trips.

Before launching, paddlers should confirm current boating regulations and check water conditions through www.schuylkillriver.org. The Schuylkill River Trail trailhead is located at this site, making it a good hub for combined water and land recreation. Be sure to obtain a Pennsylvania fishing license and boat registration if required. The site's proximity to historic attractions like Valley Forge National Historical Park and Hopewell Furnace makes it an excellent base for combining paddling with regional sightseeing.
