About This Access Site
Located on the Pine River in Cadillac, Lincoln Bridge State Forest offers carry-in access approximately 20 yards from the parking area, making it convenient for kayakers and canoeists. This is a rustic, non-motorized access point managed by Michigan's Department of Natural Resources. The site provides opportunities to explore the Pine River and Silver Creek, with water access available directly from the site. Note that launching motorized watercraft is prohibited on National Forest System lands in this corridor.

The Pine River in this area is known as a swift-moving river popular with canoeists seeking an active paddling experience. Boating hours are encouraged between 9 a.m. and 6 p.m. daily to reduce conflicts with anglers. While the access site itself offers day-use facilities, nearby Peterson Bridge Campground (located just south on Highway 3T near Pine River Bridge) provides camping options for those planning multi-day trips. Winter access is available year-round, as U.S. Forest Service access sites are plowed seasonally. Check with the Michigan DNR for current conditions, access fees, and any river-specific regulations before your visit.
