Little Horsehead Lake

Little Horsehead Lake is a 56-acre lake in Vilas County near Presque Isle with public boat access via a gravel ramp. The lake reaches a maximum depth of 19 feet, making it suitable for kayakers, canoeists, and motorboats. The area supports a mixed fishery including musky, northern pike, walleye, largemouth and smallmouth bass, and panfish.

The nearby Moosehead Lake Camp offers first-come, first-served campground accommodations in the area, with payment available via QR code and the Recreation.gov mobile app. Several other reservable campgrounds are within 10 miles, including Henry Lake Camp, Bobcat Lake Camp, and Pomeroy Lake Camp. Plan to arrive early during peak season, as sites are not pre-reserved.
