About This Access Site
Little Lake State Forest Campground offers rustic carry-in access to Little Lake in Michigan's Upper Peninsula (Marquette County). The carry-in launch is conveniently located approximately 20 yards from the parking area, making it easily accessible for kayakers and canoeists. A small beach area within the campground provides an additional staging area for launching paddling adventures.

This scenic access point is ideal for paddlers seeking a quieter, more intimate paddling experience. The campground sits on the east side of Little Lake and is shaded by a mix of upland hardwoods and lowland conifers, offering beautiful surroundings for recreational paddling and fishing. The site includes 16 camping sites and basic facilities with potable water available via hand pump, making it convenient for day-paddlers or multi-day camping trips.

**Planning Your Visit:** A Michigan Recreation Passport is required for vehicle entry into this state forest campground. Be sure to have this permit before arriving. The carry-in access works well for smaller boats and paddlecraft that can be easily transported the short distance to the water.
