About This Access Site
Little Mustang Creek Park is a well-developed access point located at the confluence of Mustang Creek and Little Mustang Creek on Bardwell Lake in Ellis County, Texas. The park features a **4-lane boat ramp** ideal for launching kayaks, canoes, and motorboats. The facility sits on a 163-acre park with paved road access, making it convenient for launching directly into the upper lake region. **From Ennis, take Texas 34 south, cross US 287, turn right on Lakeview Drive, and left at the park entrance.**

This access point provides entry to Bardwell Lake, a 3,600-acre impoundment created in 1965 for flood control in the Blackland Prairie region. Paddlers launching here can explore the upper lake reaches and creek arms with relatively gentle conditions typical of this landscape. Unlike other Bardwell Lake boat ramps, there is no additional launch fee at this location—only a **$5 day-use fee per vehicle**, which also covers picnic areas and other park amenities.

For current conditions or information, contact the lake management office at **(972) 875-5711, Monday-Friday, 8:00 AM–4:00 PM**. The park's generous facilities make it an excellent starting point for paddling trips on Bardwell Lake.
