Little River Subdivision

Located in McCormick County on the western portion of Lake J. Strom Thurmond (also known as Clark Hill Reservoir), Little River Boat Ramp offers convenient access to the scenic backwaters of this 71,100-acre impoundment on the Savannah River. The ramp features a well-maintained concrete launch with ample space, designed to accommodate kayaks, canoes, and various small to medium-sized boats. This is an ideal put-in for paddlers looking to explore the quieter, protected waters of the reservoir's upper reaches.

To reach the ramp from Anderson, take Highway 28 west to Abbeville, then continue on Highway 28 for approximately 11.7 miles past the intersection with Highway 72. Turn right onto Richey Road and follow it for 1.7 miles to the access point. The lake's calm backwater conditions make this location particularly appealing for recreational kayaking, canoeing, and fishing. With 26 boat ramps across the reservoir and 1,200 miles of shoreline to explore, you'll have plenty of opportunities for extended paddling trips. No reservations are required to use this facility.
