Little Wood Reservoir is a 600-acre impoundment on the Little Wood River in southcentral Idaho, located approximately 70 miles northeast of Twin Falls in Blaine County. The boat ramp provides access to about 9 miles of scenic shoreline with excellent views of the surrounding Pioneer Mountains. This is a solid destination for both paddlers and motorized boaters seeking a quieter, less-crowded experience away from major population centers.
The reservoir supports year-round fishing for rainbow, cutthroat, brook, and brown trout, making it popular with anglers. The access site is operated by the Bureau of Reclamation and includes restrooms, parking, picnic tables, a campground, and swimming areas. The calm waters are well-suited for kayaking and canoeing, particularly for paddlers looking for a more relaxed lake paddle rather than river paddling. Summer is the most popular season, though the fishery remains active throughout the year.
