About This Access Site
Lofers Bend East is a well-equipped access point on Lake Whitney in Central Texas, featuring a two-lane boat ramp suitable for launching kayaks, canoes, and larger vessels. The campground includes 66 campsites (many with water and electrical hookups), flush toilets, showers, and a trailer dump station. Day-use and overnight facilities make it convenient for extended paddling trips or weekend getaways.

Located on the Brazos River impoundment, this site offers calm lake conditions ideal for recreational paddling and fishing. The scenic setting features rolling hills with cedar, live oak, and post oak trees, and wildlife viewing opportunities. Access from Highway 22 is straightforward—from Whitney, continue 7 miles past the dam, turn right at the park entrance, then right again at the 4-way stop to reach the East facility. A day-use fee applies April through September; contact the park at 254-622-3332 for current rates and campsite reservations.
