Unfortunately, the Lonetree Reservoir State Wildlife Area boat ramp is no longer accessible to the public. As of January 1, 2019, the parking area and boat ramp have been closed and fenced off, effectively ending all public access to this popular lake.
Previously, the Lonetree Reservoir boat ramp provided access for kayakers, canoeists, and small boat users to enjoy this 239-acre reservoir. However, Colorado Parks and Wildlife have since removed their stock fish from the lake, and transferred the surface lease to the Berthoud-Heritage Metro District.
For those seeking water-based recreation in the area, nearby options include Horsetooth Reservoir and Flatiron Reservoir, which offer boat ramps, marinas, and other amenities for paddlers and motorized boaters. Visitors should check the current status and access information for these alternative sites before planning a trip.
