The Long Lake Public Access at the Long Lake Recreation Area is the only public boat launch on this popular 423-acre lake in Waupaca, Waushara County. The facility features a paved boat ramp with a 7% slope and 3-foot launch depth, making it suitable for kayaks, canoes, and motorboats. A boarding dock is available to assist with launching and landing. The site is ADA accessible and charges a small daily launch fee ($5) or seasonal pass option ($20).
Long Lake reaches a maximum depth of 47 feet and offers moderately clear water conditions, making it ideal for paddling and fishing. The lake supports a healthy fishery including northern pike, largemouth bass, walleye, panfish, and crappie. Paddlers should plan their visit during daylight hours and check current wind conditions before launching, as the lake's size can generate significant wave action. The recreation area provides convenient access for day trips and offers parking near the ramp.
