About This Access Site
The Long Lake Public Access is the only public boat launch on Long Lake, a expansive 3,478-acre lake in the Iron River area of Bayfield County. The facility features a paved boat ramp with a 7% slope and 3-foot launch depth, accompanied by a boarding dock for convenient access. This is an ideal launch point for kayakers, canoeists, and motorboats seeking to explore a large, well-developed recreational lake. ADA-accessible amenities are available on-site.

Long Lake supports excellent fishing opportunities for northern pike, largemouth and smallmouth bass, walleye, panfish, and other species, making it popular with anglers year-round—including ice fishing in winter. The lake reaches a maximum depth of 74 feet, providing good conditions for both paddling and boating. A daily launch fee of $5 applies (seasonal passes available for $20). The access site is well-maintained as part of the Long Lake Recreation Area, making it a reliable choice for day trips and extended paddling adventures.
