Long Point

Located off US Highway 29 southwest of Anderson, South Carolina, Long Point provides convenient access to Lake Hartwell, a 56,000-acre impoundment on the Savannah River. The Singing Pines Recreation Area features a boat ramp and courtesy dock, making it well-suited for kayakers, canoeists, and motorboats. The site also offers day-use facilities including picnic areas, swimming beaches, a fishing pier, and two comfort stations.

Lake Hartwell's calm, reservoir waters provide ideal conditions for recreational paddling and fishing, offering excellent opportunities for bass, crappie, and bream. The boat ramp is open year-round, though the park's day-use facilities operate seasonally (April 1 – September 9). Hartwell Lake is a man-made lake bordering Georgia and South Carolina on the Savannah, Tugaloo and Seneca Rivers. The dam and lake area boasts 8 campgrounds and 11 day-use facilities that are operated by the US Army Corps of Engineers.
The Hartwell Project was originally authorized for hydro-power, flood control, and navigation. Later, recreation, water quality, water supply and fish and wildlife management were added.
Surrounding vegetation allows for plenty of shade, and the 962 miles of shoreline provide numerous swimming beaches, picnic areas and boat ramps.
