Long Pond

Long Pond in Mount Desert offers a public boat ramp at the north end of the lake, providing convenient access for kayakers, canoeists, and motorboaters. Located outside Acadia National Park boundaries in Hancock County, this ramp serves as the primary launch point for recreational paddling and boating on the pond. The site is positioned to access the central waters, though paddlers should note that much of the eastern shore is privately owned with limited access points, while the western shore offers few developed landing areas.

Two highly-rated campgrounds are within 10 miles—Seawall Campground and Blackwoods Campground (both reservable)—making it convenient for multi-day paddling trips.
