**Location & Facilities**
Longyear Park in Coleraine offers a concrete boat ramp providing convenient access to Trout Lake. This is one of three public access points on the lake and accommodates boats up to 12-18 feet. The access is free to use, though check locally for any vehicle permit requirements for the park itself.
**Fishing & Recreation**
Trout Lake is a productive fishery year-round, supporting walleye, northern pike, black crappie, and bluegill—making it popular for both summer and winter fishing. The lake is also situated near the Mississippi River Headwaters area and Pokegama Lake, offering additional exploration opportunities. If you're planning an extended trip, Pokegama Dam Campground (reservable) is located within 10 miles and provides overnight camping options.
**What to Know**
The concrete ramp at Longyear Park is the most developed of Trout Lake's three access points. Paddlers and boaters should note that two alternative access options exist at Cotton Beach Park (concrete) and Kom On In Beach (gravel) if Longyear Park is crowded or experiencing conditions that don't suit your needs.
