About This Access Site
**Location & Facilities:** Loon Lake's boat ramp is located on 10th Street NW near Highway 14 in Aurora, St. Louis County. The access features a concrete plank, single-lane boat ramp equipped with a roll-in dock and is ADA-compliant, making it accessible for paddlers of varying abilities.

**Lake Characteristics:** Loon Lake is a 1,095-acre inland lake with 14 miles of shoreline and a maximum depth of 202 feet. The lake has a sandy bottom with firm wading conditions near the ramp, making it welcoming for kayakers and canoeists launching from shore. The calm waters and minimal development (only one campsite on the lake) make it ideal for peaceful paddling and fishing opportunities, including bluegill, crappie, bass, northern pike, and bullhead.

**Paddling Notes:** This is a well-maintained, straightforward access point suitable for canoes, kayaks, and other small watercraft. The sandy bottom and clear water provide good visibility, and the quiet nature of the lake makes it an excellent choice for recreational paddling, wildlife viewing, and fishing trips.
