About This Access Site
Lorenzo is a BLM boat ramp located on the South Fork Snake River in Jefferson County, Idaho, accessible via the Menan exit on Highway 20. The site features a concrete boat ramp designed to accommodate motorized watercraft, with a wide launch area suitable for multiple boats. Be aware of a gravel bar in front of the ramp that may affect motorized boat entry. The access point is located just north of the Menan-Lorenzo highway on 3600 E; look for the dirt road entrance east of the bridge.

The South Fork Snake River at this location is a major waterway with an average flow of roughly 49,000 cubic feet per second and significant current (average velocity of 10.8 feet/second). The river has a notable gradient of about 15.8 feet per mile, making it suitable for experienced paddlers and boaters. Lorenzo is a common takeout point for floaters launching from Heise Bridge upstream; watch for rapids near an irrigation diversion channel as you approach the access area.

**Facilities:** Vault toilets are available year-round in the parking lot. There is no potable water on-site, so bring your own. Trash service is available seasonally; pack out all trash if no receptacles are present. This is a popular access point for South Fork Snake River floats, so plan accordingly during peak seasons.
