About This Access Site
Lou Yaeger Lake is a 1,269-acre public lake in Litchfield, Illinois, offering a boat ramp on the southwest shore for paddlers and boaters. This city-owned facility requires all boaters to purchase a daily or annual boat pass before launching. The ramp is located at the Marina, where passes can be purchased at Marina 1. The lake has no horsepower motor limit and supports a variety of recreational uses including fishing, boating, and paddling.

The ramp has some depth limitations—it extends only about 6 feet past the dock, so boaters should be cautious during water level changes. Notably, the lake is typically dropped at least 4 feet in November, which may affect smaller boat launches during late fall. Kayak and paddleboard rentals are available at Milnot Beach during operating hours if you don't have your own equipment. The site offers amenities including restrooms, camping, and picnic areas.
