Lower Baker Pond is a 120-acre lake in Grafton County near Orford, offering public boat access via a gravel ramp along NH Route 25A. The ramp has limited accessibility, so paddlers and boaters should be prepared for basic conditions. The location is convenient to the Appalachian Trail trailhead directly across the road, making it a popular spot for both water recreation and hiking access.
To reach the ramp from Route 10, drive east on Route 25A for approximately 11 miles. The boat launch will be on your right side, just past the AT trailhead. The pond is suitable for kayaking, canoeing, and small motorboats, and the area is known for fishing opportunities. Given the limited facilities at this access point, paddlers should come prepared with their own equipment and supplies.
