About This Access Site
Lower Hay Lake, a 700-acre lake in Crow Wing County near Pequot Lakes, offers a well-maintained public boat launch for kayakers, canoeists, and boaters. The access site recently underwent significant improvements, reopening in late August 2025 with new wider boat ramps, two modern docks, a paved road and parking area, and a boat wash station. These upgrades make it an excellent launching point for exploring this scenic lake.

The lake reaches depths of up to 100 feet, making it suitable for various water activities. With ample parking and improved facilities, the Lower Hay Lake access is particularly convenient for paddlers and anglers looking to explore Crow Wing County's lake country. The site is located near other recreational opportunities in Minnesota's headwaters region, including access to the broader network of lakes in the area.
