About This Access Site
Lower Vermillion Lake is a 215-acre lake in Barron County offering public access via a boat landing on the northwest end of the lake, directly off 9th Street in Cumberland. The lake has a maximum depth of 55 feet with moderately clear water, making it suitable for kayaking, canoeing, and motorized boating. The lake supports populations of panfish, largemouth bass, northern pike, and walleye.

**Access Details:** The public landing features a primitive gravel boat launch. Note that the launch area is fairly shallow with significant aquatic vegetation, which may affect larger boats. Paddlers in kayaks and canoes should have no difficulty launching from this site. The shallow, weedy conditions make this an ideal access point for exploring the lake's shallow areas and coves.
