Loyd Park offers a convenient public boat launch on the west side of Joe Pool Lake, a 7,400-acre reservoir in the southern Dallas-Fort Worth Metroplex. The facility features a single four-lane boat ramp with ample parking and truck/trailer spaces, making it well-suited for kayakers, canoeists, and larger watercraft. Park admission is $10 per vehicle and provides access to the launch site.
Located in Grand Prairie off TX-360 near Ragland Road, Loyd Park is open daily year-round. From the launch, paddlers can explore approximately 5 miles of creek and lake paddling (roundtrip to the TX-360 bridge), with typical float times of 2-4 hours. The park provides a straightforward access point to Joe Pool Lake, which offers recreational opportunities including boating, fishing, and scenic exploration of this large impoundment serving the DFW region.
