About This Access Site
The Northwest access site on Lura Lake is located on the west side of the north basin near Mapleton in Blue Earth County. This boat ramp provides convenient access to one of Minnesota's primary Northern Pike and Walleye fisheries, with secondary populations of Black Crappie, Bluegill, Largemouth Bass, and Yellow Perch. The lake has four public access points total, offering flexibility for launching and exploring different areas of the water body.

Paddlers and boaters should be aware that Eurasian watermilfoil is present in the lake, so it's important to inspect and clean equipment before and after use. The nearby Daly County Park offers additional amenities including camping (86 mobile sites, 67 with electric hookups), a swimming beach, hiking trails, a disc golf course, fishing docks, and picnic facilities—making this a good destination for a full recreation outing. Check current conditions and water levels before visiting to ensure optimal launching conditions.
