Located near Satus in Yakima County, Mabton Bridge provides year-round vehicle access to the Yakima River with ample parking and a pit toilet on-site. The ramp accommodates trailerboat launches, making it a practical put-in or take-out point for this section of river. Note that winter conditions can be challenging—ice may form on the parking lot, so consider bringing a rope to assist with launching in freezing weather.
This access point serves a 12.3-mile float section that offers limited alternative access, so plan for a full day of paddling (at least 6 hours at a fishing pace). By this point, the Yakima has grown into a broad, substantial river thanks to flow from the Teanaway River confluence. The section is well-suited for canoeists, kayakers, and motorboaters seeking a longer float through scenic terrain, though walk-and-wade opportunities are limited without bushwhacking.
