About This Access Site
Maccoon Access is a concrete boat ramp located on the Skunk River in Lockridge, Jefferson County, offering a convenient take-out point for paddlers and boaters exploring this scenic section of the river. The access site is situated on the eastern border of Jefferson County and serves as an ideal exit point for kayakers and canoeists paddling the 10.5-mile Jefferson County section, which can be accessed upstream at the Coppock Access boat ramp.

The facility includes a well-maintained concrete ramp suitable for launching and landing small watercraft. Beyond paddling, the access area provides excellent amenities for a full day outing, including camping with electric hookups (April 15 - October 31), a picnic shelter, fishing opportunities on the Skunk River, drinking water, pit toilets, and a trailer dump station. A playground and hiking trail are also available for visitors. The site is located at 3293 Maccoon Road, Lockridge, IA 52635.
