Located about 5 miles north of Mackay via US Highway 93, the Upper access point at Mackay Reservoir offers a gravel boat ramp for paddlers and boaters accessing this scenic mountain reservoir. The ramp provides convenient launch facilities for kayaks, canoes, and motorized boats interested in exploring the water nestled beneath the White Knob Mountains and Mackay Peak.
The reservoir supports a variety of water activities including fishing, paddling, and water sports. A dock is available at the access site, and nearby camping is permitted with a 10-day limit within any 30-day period.
