About This Access Site
Magnolia Park offers convenient access to Bayou Teche in St. Martinville, located along the scenic Bayou Teche Paddle Trail. To reach the ramp, take LA 671 (Canal Street) and turn onto Highway 182 (Main Street), then right on Wormser Street and left on Tarleton Street to follow the road to the water. This access point provides a good launch location for kayakers, canoeists, and small boaters exploring this slow-moving, easy-paddling waterway.

Bayou Teche near St. Martinville features the lush, scenic character typical of the region—lined with oak, magnolia, and redbud trees that create beautiful paddling conditions. Wildlife viewing opportunities are excellent, with chances to spot bald eagles, egrets, turtles, and alligators. The calm water and proximity to other access points downstream (including options in New Iberia) make this section ideal for leisurely day trips or multi-access paddling routes.

**Note:** The park access is only available when the Magnolia Park gate is open, so plan your visit accordingly. Detailed maps and information about the full Bayou Teche Paddle Trail are available through the local tourism welcome center.
