Mallard Lake is a 103-acre lake located in Gaslyn in Burnett County, with a maximum depth of 35 feet. The public boat access is located at 3676 Normans Landing Road on the southeast shore of the lake. This is a **carry-in access point**—note that no motorized boat ramp is available, making it ideal for kayakers, canoeists, and other small watercraft under 20 feet in length.
The site offers a small parking area and public boat landing for launching paddled boats and small craft. The lake supports a healthy fishery with panfish, largemouth bass, northern pike, and walleye. Before launching, be aware that Mallard Lake has documented aquatic invasive species present, including banded mystery snails, Chinese mystery snails, and purple loosestrife. Always inspect and clean your equipment before entering the water to prevent spreading invasive species to other waterbodies.
