About This Access Site
Manor is a single-lane boat ramp providing access to Richard B. Russell Lake in Abbeville County, SC. The ramp features paved parking and is managed by the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers. **Note: The ramp is currently scheduled for closure from August 1, 2025 through August 31, 2026.** Before planning your trip, verify current access status with the Corps of Engineers.

Richard B. Russell Lake is a substantial impoundment spanning nearly 10,000 acres across Anderson and Abbeville counties, with an average depth of 38.7 feet and maximum depths exceeding 160 feet. The lake offers 193 miles of shoreline and is well-developed for recreation, with 16 boat ramps, 10 fish attractors, and several marinas with pumpout facilities available. The underlying Savannah River is a major waterway with significant flow (averaging 12,800 cubic feet per second), making conditions suitable for motorboats and larger recreational vessels.

Kayakers and canoeists should be prepared for the characteristics of a large reservoir rather than moving river water—conditions can vary dramatically depending on dam operations and weather. Plan accordingly with proper safety equipment and check current water conditions before launching.
