About This Access Site
Mansfield Dam Park offers one of Lake Travis's premier boat launch facilities, featuring a **four-lane ramp with wheelchair-accessible courtesy dock**—making it ideal for kayakers, canoeists, and larger boats. Located on the main body of Lake Travis just below Mansfield Dam, this is consistently the deepest and most accessible ramp on the lake, providing reliable water conditions year-round. The facility is well-suited for paddlers launching into calm, reservoir-style conditions.

The park sits on the Colorado River impoundment created by Mansfield Dam (completed in 1941), which transformed the area into a large, navigable lake. From the ramp, paddlers can explore extensive shoreline, coves, and fingers of the reservoir. The adjacent **Balcones Canyonlands National Wildlife Refuge** offers scenic paddling through rugged terrain with oak and juniper woodlands. Access via Mansfield Dam Road (south of the dam intersection with FM 2222) or from the north via FM 1431 and Lohmans Ford Road.
