**Location & Facilities**
The Maple Lake East access site is located on the far eastern end of Maple Lake in Alexandria, Douglas County, accessible via CSAH 37. This public boat launch features a concrete ramp, dock, trailer parking, and picnic area. The site is well-suited for kayakers, canoeists, and recreational boaters, with capacity for 12-18 foot boats at the launch ramp. A handicapped-accessible floating fishing pier is available near the north boat launch for those interested in shore-based activities.
**Additional Resources**
Two improved public access sites serve Maple Lake's north and east shorelines, providing options depending on your launch preferences. A fishing pier on the lake's east side and bump-outs in the southwest corner offer good paddling destinations. A Boating Center on the lake provides boat rentals, bait, and supplies if needed. There are no launch fees unless accessing the site requires a vehicle permit. Check the Minnesota DNR's Lake Finder tool for current access conditions and any seasonal updates before your visit.
