About This Access Site
The Marine and Sport Center offers a well-maintained single-lane concrete boat ramp located in a protected cove on the Llano River arm of Lake Lyndon B. Johnson. The facility includes docking alongside the ramp and parking for 20-30 boats and trailers, making it a convenient launch point for kayakers, canoeists, and powerboats of various sizes. The ramp is managed by the Lower Colorado River Authority (LCRA) and is situated in scenic surroundings ideal for recreational paddling.

To reach the site from Highway 281, take Highway 2147 toward Wirtz Dam Road and follow signs for Bay Marine and LBJ Marina. The ramp is located between Horseshoe Bay and Cottonwood Shores, approximately 4 miles from the highway. The protected cove setting provides calmer water conditions, making this a good option for launching before exploring the lake's broader waters. Note that Lake LBJ experiences seasonal activity, particularly during white bass spawning runs beginning in February, which may affect fishing conditions and boat traffic during peak season.
