About This Access Site
Marion Lake, located in the Ottawa National Forest near Watersmeet in Michigan's Upper Peninsula, offers a scenic boat launch for kayakers, canoeists, and motorized boaters. The access point is situated off Forest Road 3985, approximately 1.5 miles north of US Highway 2 via Marion Lake Road (Forest Road 3980). The sparkling waters provide opportunities for paddling, fishing, and other water-based recreation in a protected forest setting.

**Fees and Facilities:** A day-use fee of $5 per vehicle applies from May 15 through October 15, with an annual pass option available for $30 (valid at multiple regional recreation areas). Fees are collected via self-registration; plan ahead to have cash available. Campers with paid campground sites are exempt from day-use fees. An on-site campground host can assist with annual pass purchases, or contact Camp Host, LLC at 906-661-8870 for additional information.

The campground is in a large, grassy field surrounded by hemlock and hardwood trees with an opening to Marion Lake. The altitude is 1,627 feet, with lightly rolling hills stretched between the many other lakes in the area.
