About This Access Site
Mario's Marina in Whitethorn, Humboldt County, CA provides direct access to the Pacific Ocean. This boat ramp site is well-suited for kayakers, canoeists, and small motorized boats. The ramp itself is located within a larger marina facility, with nearby parking for vehicles and trailers.

While the marina is privately operated, it is open to the public. Amenities include a boat launch, but no boarding floats or dedicated carry-down walkways are available. The site can accommodate up to 30 vehicle/trailer parking spaces. For overnight stays, the nearby Nadelos Campground offers tent camping about 1.5 miles away, though reservations are not accepted.

Boaters and paddlers should be aware of the challenging ocean conditions in this area, including cold water temperatures, wind, and potential swell. Those unfamiliar with the Pacific Coast should exercise caution and consider joining a guided trip. Overall, Mario's Marina provides relatively easy access to explore the scenic Humboldt County coastline by small watercraft.
