Marshall Hall provides convenient access to the Potomac River in Accokeek, Charles County, with two public boat ramps, a boarding pier, and approximately 25 parking spaces for trailers. The facility is free and open year-round from dawn to dusk. Small hand-paddled boats—including kayaks and canoes—can be launched directly from either ramp or from the shoreline, making it an accessible option for paddlers of all experience levels. The site is located at the end of Route 227 (Marshall Hall Road), south of Route 210 (Indian Head Highway).
The launch point sits just above Greenway Flats in the Mount Vernon area of the river, offering access to a major waterway with substantial flow and current. The Potomac at this location is a large river (8th stream order) with an average flow of approximately 23,400 cubic feet per second and average velocity of 4.5 feet per second, so paddlers should be prepared for moderate current conditions. The area is popular for shoreline fishing and provides nearby access to recreational opportunities including Mason Neck National Wildlife Refuge.
