Rum River, Martins State Water Access Site

Martins Landing offers convenient public boat access to the Rum River near Isanti, located east of MN 47 at 142nd Street N.W. and N.W. Waco Street. This is a trailer-accessible launch point (RM 32.1-34.7) suitable for kayakers, canoeists, and motorboats, with limited parking and facilities available nearby.

The Rum River in this section features a slow gradient of approximately 1 foot per mile, making it ideal for recreational paddling and leisurely float trips. A popular paddle route runs approximately 10-11 miles downstream from Martins Landing to Rum River North County Park near St. Francis. **Important note:** The river contains zebra mussels, so clean and inspect your watercraft accordingly. Access to downstream take-out locations like Rum River Central Regional Park may require an Anoka or Washington County Parks permit, so plan accordingly.
