About This Access Site
The Maryel Drive Boat Ramp provides access to the Big Eau Pleine River in Stratford, located in Marathon County. This launch is situated approximately 2.2 miles downstream from Highway 153, making it a convenient take-out point for paddlers exploring the river corridor. The ramp offers vehicle and trailer parking for boaters and paddlers launching on the Big Eau Pleine.

**Paddling Considerations:** The river section upstream from Maryel features some rock walls and scenic areas worth exploring. If you're paddling from Highway 153, note that area is not an ideal take-out, so many paddlers use the Maryel ramp as their intended destination. The Big Eau Pleine Reservoir (6,348 acres) is accessible from multiple public boat landings throughout Marathon County, with a maximum depth of 46 feet. The waters support populations of musky, smallmouth bass, northern pike, and walleye.

For current water levels, conditions, and any seasonal access updates, contact Marathon County Parks or the Wisconsin Valley Improvement Company, which manages the reservoir.
