The Mason Courtesy Dock provides public access to the Ohio River in Mason, WV, offering a convenient launching point for kayakers, canoeists, and motorboats. The facility features a courtesy dock and parking area. Access to the boat launch requires crossing the Greenway Trail, which runs along the top of the floodwall levee—follow posted signs to reach the water. Note that parking is restricted to designated areas; do not park on the entry road or boat launch itself.
From this location, paddlers can access the Racine Pool, a navigable section of the Ohio River that extends approximately 34 miles upstream to Belleville Locks and Dam. This pool offers excellent opportunities for recreational boating and fishing. The site is maintained by the West Virginia Division of Natural Resources as part of the state's network of public water access points. Nearby tributaries also provide alternatives for kayaking and canoeing if you're seeking smaller-water experiences.
