Matsell Bridge provides a concrete boat ramp for launching kayaks, canoes, and motorboats onto the Wapsipinicon River in Central City, Linn County. Located within the Matsell Bridge Natural Area—a 2,000-acre park with nearly 12 miles of multi-use trails—the ramp is situated near the maintenance shop and equestrian campground. Potable water is available seasonally (April–October) next to the maintenance shop at 3742 Matsell Park Road, though no electricity or water hookups are provided on-site.
This is a first-come, first-served access point with straightforward amenities focused on river access rather than overnight facilities. The Wapsipinicon River in this region offers a scenic paddling corridor, and Matsell Bridge serves as one of several launch points along the river between Pinicon Ridge Park upstream and other downstream access areas. Paddlers can expect a natural setting with good park facilities and trail access, making this a convenient spot for day trips or multi-day paddles on the Wapsipinicon.
