Matson Park

Matson Park is a small county day-use park located west of Grants Pass that provides convenient access to the Rogue River, particularly near the popular Finley Bend fishing area. The park features a gravel bar launch suitable for small boats, kayaks, and canoes, along with good bank access for anglers and paddlers. This is an informal launch point rather than a developed boat ramp, making it ideal for smaller watercraft that can be carried or launched from the rocky, river-shaped terrain.

The site includes amenities such as picnic areas and restrooms, and a day-use fee or parking pass is typically required. Matson Park is well-positioned for exploring the scenic Middle Rogue River, offering access to one of the region's most productive fishing and paddling sections just 35 minutes from Medford. The surrounding area features the Rogue Wild & Scenic River corridor and the Galice-Hellgate Backcountry Byway, providing excellent opportunities for multi-day river trips and exploration of the Wild Rogue Wilderness.
