About This Access Site
Maumelle Park provides direct public access to the Arkansas River, a major tributary of the Mississippi River. The park features a boat ramp, making it a convenient launch site for kayakers, canoeists, and small motorized boats.

The Arkansas River is a sizeable waterway, with a total length of over 1,200 miles and a drainage area exceeding 133,000 square miles. At the Maumelle Park access, the river has an average flow of over 51,000 cubic feet per second and an average gradient of 7.9 feet per mile, offering paddlers and boaters a dynamic, fast-flowing experience. The river is classified as a 10th order stream, indicating its status as a major river system.

Anglers will find opportunities to target a variety of species in the Arkansas River at this location, including crappie, bream, hybrid bass, and white bass. The adjacent Nuttall Trail also provides hiking options for visitors to the park. Campers can enjoy the river access, but the park's reservable campsites must be approved by a park ranger and a physician prior to booking.

Maumelle Campground offers 128 spacious campsites with electric hookups, along with eight large group picnic shelters. Amenities include a dock, hot showers, a boat ramp and playground.Natural Features
The campground is set on the McClellan-Kerr Arkansas River Navigation System, a series of navigation pools used to help ships navigate upstream toward Oklahoma.

The Arkansas River is one of the Mississippi's largest tributaries, flowing 1,450 miles from the Rocky Mountains of Colorado, through to Kansas, Oklahoma and Arkansas.

Wintering eagles can be seen in large numbers along the Arkansas River. Most of these eagles migrate from Canada and the U.S. Great Lakes region.

Charges & Cancellations
Late Cancellations or Cancellations within the Cut-off Window
Individual Campsites: A customer who cancels a reservation the day before or on the day of arrival will pay a $10.00 service fee AND forfeit the first night's use fee (not to exceed the total paid for the original reservation). Cancellations for a one-night reservation will forfeit the entire amount paid and will not be subject to an additional service fee.

Once a reservation date has begun, customers cannot change a reservation using the online system or through the Call Center
