Mazonia #8 - Carp Lake

**Carp Lake** is located in South Wilmington within the Mazonia Lakes South Unit complex, operated as part of the larger Midewin National Tallgrass Prairie area. The access point features a **one-lane concrete boat ramp with adjacent parking**, making it suitable for launching kayaks, canoes, and small motorboats. This is the primary public launch point for accessing Carp Lake.

Paddlers should be aware that **shoreline access is limited by extensive stands of tall reed grass**, which can restrict exploration and beach landings around much of the lake's perimeter. The lake is connected to other waters in the Mazonia system by narrow channels. The area is popular with anglers, and the water body supports an active fishery.
