About This Access Site
McCuen Slang is a boat launch providing access to Lake Champlain and Wards Creek, located just south of the VT-125 causeway in Bridport. The site is situated within the McCuen Slang Wildlife Management Area, making it a good option for paddlers and boaters interested in both recreational access and wildlife observation. From here, you can paddle out onto Lake Champlain's main body or explore up the nearby creek and around Crown Point.

**Important considerations:** Be aware that a sandbar forms at the mouth of Wards Creek and the Slang itself. During periods of low lake level, you'll need to raise your motor and push your boat over the sandbar to access the water—the same condition applies to nearby Lewis Creek. Plan your visit accordingly if water levels are below normal, or consider launching elsewhere if you have a larger vessel.
