About This Access Site
McGinnis Lake is a 27-33 acre recreational lake located in Oxford, Adams County, near Brooks, Wisconsin. The public boat landing is situated on the east side of the lake, accessible off County Road G. With a maximum depth of 28 feet and moderately clear water, this small lake is suitable for kayaking, canoeing, and motorized boating. The compact size makes it ideal for paddlers seeking a manageable, accessible water body for a half-day outing.

The lake supports populations of panfish and largemouth bass, making it popular with anglers as well as recreational paddlers. Given its modest acreage, McGinnis Lake offers a quieter paddling experience without the traffic of larger regional waterways. The nearby Ice Age National Scenic Trail provides additional recreation opportunities for those interested in exploring the area's glacial geology and natural features beyond the water.
