McLennan County Park offers two public boat ramps on the south shore of Tradinghouse Creek Reservoir, located eight miles east of Waco near Hallsburg. The facility has been recently renovated with improved amenities including paved parking, new restrooms, picnic tables with BBQ grills, and boarding piers—making it a convenient launching point for kayakers, canoeists, and motorboaters. The park is accessible via Texas Highway 6 east from Waco to Hallsburg, then turning left on FM 2957 to the lake.
The reservoir offers a calm-water paddling environment suitable for recreational kayaking and canoeing. While there are no on-site campgrounds, the facility provides day-use access with parking and basic amenities. The dual boat ramps and new boarding piers accommodate various watercraft and skill levels. Note that this is a day-use area, so plan accordingly if you're traveling from a distance.
