This is one of six concrete ramps available throughout Greene County on the Raccoon River system, making it a reliable put-in point for paddlers.

**River Navigation**
The North Raccoon River features helpful navigation aids, with visible signage on the upstream side of each bridge indicating the road name and distance to the next access point. McMahon Access sits between two nearby accesses: approximately 4.1 miles upstream from Dawson Boat Ramp and 4.5 miles downstream from Henderson Park. Paddlers should be aware that the area has riffles at McMahon Access and several other nearby locations, making it suitable for recreational paddling during summer months. Bridge markers at 5-mile intervals help with distance tracking along the river.
