Additional amenities include flush and vault toilets, showers, drinking water, and a dump station. The campground offers 140 family sites available on a first-come, first-served basis, making this a good base for multi-day paddling trips.
**Water Conditions:** The Marais des Cygnes River is a large, mature waterway (Stream Order 7) with an average flow of approximately 2,691 cubic feet per second and gentle slope of 1.6 feet per mile. These characteristics indicate relatively stable water conditions suitable for various watercraft, though paddlers should be aware of the dam's influence on water levels and flow patterns below the outlet. The 6,900-acre Melvern Reservoir upstream provides good recreational boating opportunities as well.
