About This Access Site
**Overview:** Merepoint Bay Boat Launch provides all-tide, deep-water access to Northern Casco Bay. The facility includes paved boat ramps suitable for motorboats and larger vessels, as well as a designated kayak and hand-carry watercraft loading area located approximately 100 yards from the water's edge.

**Amenities & Access:** The launch accommodates both power boaters and paddlers, with separate facilities for each user type. Kayakers and canoeists should be prepared to carry their watercraft from the designated hand-carry area to the water. The all-tide access means you can launch and land across a full range of water levels, making this a reliable option regardless of tide stage.

**Local Paddling:** Merepoint Bay opens onto Northern Casco Bay, offering access to nearby attractions including Pond Island National Wildlife Refuge, home to the historic Pond Island Lighthouse (established 1821). The area features shallow ledges and flats between islands like Birch and White Islands. Local boaters note that water levels in some passages can be extremely shallow, so local knowledge is recommended for safe navigation of these areas.
