**Location & Access:** The Mesquite ramp is located in Lake City, San Patricio County, south of Mathis. From Mathis, take Texas Highway 359 south 7.5 miles, turn right onto FM 534, continue north approximately 8.5 miles, then turn right onto the access road and follow it about 3 miles to reach the ramp.
**Current Status & Conditions:** As of late August 2025, the Mesquite boat ramp remains closed. Paddlers and boaters in the area should check current conditions before planning a trip, as access status may change seasonally. The nearby Opossum boat ramp is an alternative launch point in the area.
**About the Water:** This ramp provides access to the Nueces River and Lake Corpus Christi system, offering paddlers the opportunity to explore both freshwater river sections and the brackish waters below the dam. The area is popular with both recreational boaters and anglers.
